Family dragged to the ’63 Ella / Getz / Byrd concert by Mom, who loved music; Sinatra, jazz, latin (’50s posting to Havana helped), etc. As a 5th grader, I was suspect. Older brother was learning guitar – didn’t complain about having to go and listen to Byrd.
Wow… how does one become drawn into The New? Live exposure / beautiful evening / phenomenal artists. I love that time, the place, their music to this day. Everyone should be so fortunate… makes for a better world.
