Played for proms, weddings, and parties. Worked steadily at Lincoln Colonnade, Suburban Gardens, and Murray Casino in 1937-1943 with regular radio broadcasts on WWDC. Also played for chartered cruises on the Potomac River.
Drummer and bandleader. Thomas Henry Myles born February 11, 1900 in Washington, D.C.; died October 21, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Played with Claude Hopkins in Atlantic City, N.J. in 1925. Was residing in Newark, N.J. in 1930.
Myles was a member of the White Brothers orchestra and later assumed its leadership.
Bassist and tubist. William Anderson Taylor, Sr. born April 3, 1905 [according to death certificate] in Washington, D.C.; died September 1, 1986 in Fairfax, Virginia.
Father of bassist Billy Taylor, Jr. No relation to pianist Dr. Billy Taylor. For much of his career he was known simply as Billy Taylor.
Pianist, arranger, educator. John L. Malachi was born September 6, 1919 in Durham, North Carolina; died February 11, 1987 in Washington, D.C.
Attended Armstrong High School. Was active as a teenager, playing at the Atlantic Beer Gardens and then the Jungle Inn in 1936.
