Vocalist and educator. Pamela Carroll Bricker was born July 7, 1954 in Richmond, Virginia; died February 20, 2005 in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Bricker grew up in Summit, New Jersey and studied clarinet through high school. She attended Hampshire College. She moved to northern Virginia in 1981 and became active in Washington, D.C.

Broumas studied flute beginning at age 9 at Louise Archer Elementary School in Vienna, Virginia. After moving to Maryland, she attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. After a brief time at Berklee College of Music in 1978, she studied musicology and voice at Vassar College, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1980.
Saxophonist. Born 1955 in Washington, D.C.
While attending Bertie Backus Junior High School and Gonzaga High School, Keys was a member of the D.C. Youth Orchestra. He continued his academic studies at Howard University, where he earned a degree in psychology, and at the University of the District of Columbia.
Trombonist, pianist, bassist, arranger, educator. Born September 27, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois; died October 10, 2004 in Cheverly, Maryland.
Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Jones attended Tennessee State University. His service in the U.S. Army (1955-1957) brought him to the Washington area, where he played in the 75th Army Band at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Drummer, vibraphonist, and educator. Born in Silver Spring, Maryland. Brother of pianist Robert Redd; father of guitarist Charlie Redd.
Studied drums beginning at age 10 and began playing vibraphone in high school. Beginning in 1976 Redd encountered many artists at the Villa Rosa Showboat club near his family home.
